The European Commission has prepared an online questionnaire addressed to all national youth panel members (not only those who were present at the SIF 2011). Please forward this to all youth panel members asking them to kindly fill in the questionnaire. The questionnaire will close on Friday 20 January. Timeline was only available to developers until recently but all of us need to get up to speed quickly with the new features and what they mean. Basically timeline will provide a detailed overview of everything users have ever done on Facebook which has been described as “awesome” or “terrifying” depending on how they have used Facebook in the past. It is also possible for users to add content – spanning their entire life if they want to. It enables an instant chat session connecting the help seeker to a team of experts from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The application is only available in the United States and Canada so far. Bulgaria 16/12/2011 Bulgarian teachers and pupils in competitions for SID 2012 In preparation for the celebration of SID 2012, and recognising the pivotal role of teachers in preparing responsible digital youth and mitigating forms of digital exclusion, the Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) organised a nationwide competition in October and November 2011 titled ‘Teacher leader in virtual space’ for the best innovative online safety lesson. The challenge was part of the continuous efforts of the SIC to raise awareness among teachers and mobilise educational institutions to take a proactive stand on the issue of child online safety. |
