A Back to School 2011 gift from Insafe

As the beginning of a new school year is now upon us, Insafe continues its popular Back to School campaign offering you a box of tools and tips to help you start the year off on a positive note.

This year the gift package for teachers includes the customary quiz for pupils to complete, lesson plans, an update on Facebook's new privacy settings, and an eSafety PowerPoint presentation giving an overview of benefits and challenges facing children and young people using online technologies, which can be used to raise the issues with other members of staff at school.

You'll also find two versions of downloadable Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) posters - one for children aged 6-11, and another for older children aged 11-16.

Additionally, we will shortly be running a 'Games in Schools' online learning course. Launching on 27 September 2011, this new course for teachers will focus on using games in classrooms. The course will consider the benefits of such an approach while also highlighting the potential challenges. You can register your interest in participating now.

And finally, you'll also find information on Safer Internet Day (SID), which next year will take place on Tuesday 7 February 2012, including a link for schools to register for further information as the campaign gathers pace.
