The Polish Awareness Node was first set up on the 1st of January 2005 and the consortium comprises:

  • Nobody’s Children Foundation, widely known in the country for its educational and preventive activities in the field of child abuse, recently actively involved in the issue of child sexual abuse via the internet.

  • NASK, the Research and Academic Computer Networks, has been a research & development organisation and a leading Polish data networks operator since December 1993. Part of its activities is a website about Poland available in Polish and English: Polska.pl & Poland.pl. The structure of NASK encompasses CERT Polska- Poland’s first Computer Emergency Response Team.

The aim of the Polish awareness node is to contribute to the implementation of the Safer Internet Action Plan, to reduce internet-related threats in Poland through education and the development of a prevention-system for internet-based pedophilia and other dangerous contents on the internet.
