It provides an opportunity to discuss the issues of a safe and secure use of the internet and to exchange views regarding young people's behaviour online.
The meeting will take place near Nuremberg, Germany from 14 -16 May 2008.
It will start with an exhibition of the Safer Internet contributions from the teams of young people from Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, Italy, Poland, Slovenia and Germany as well as the Award ceremony for winners of the SID 2008 competition by European Schoolnet / UPC (to be confirmed).
The second and third day is dedicated to further discussion about the analysis and description of online risks which the young people have experienced, dealing with the risks and their expectations of what should be done to make the internet a safer place.

About the YPRT
The Youth Protection Roundtable is a project funded in the framework of the Safer Internet Action Plan of the European Commission from November 2006 till April 2009.
The Mission of the Youth Protection Roundtable is to establish an intercommunicable socio-technical approach to youth protection. Users – responsible adults in the case of minors – should be empowered to make their own decisions on how to deal with harmful and unwanted content on the internet.
In addition to action to fight illegal content at its source, users may need digital literacy as well as technical tools. Accessibility to these tools may be promoted in order to empower users. The Youth Protection Roundtable's overarching goal is to facilitate and coordinate exchange of views between child welfare specialists and technical experts on technical and pedagogical measures against unwanted and harmful content.
