Prior to the meeting, a resource catalogue was drafted by the coordinating node. The Market Place catalogue depicted all the resources that nodes wanted to share at the exhibition. A copy of this catalogue and an appointment sheet for resource exchange appointments were included, among others, in the folder that each participant received upon registration. The nodes were asked to hand in the appointment sheet at the end of the first day of conference. Further to that, an appointment schedule was organised and presented to the nodes.
The range of resources exhibited at the Market Place varied from brochures for parents and/or teachers to TV spots and debate films. Other materials such as posters, flyers, guides and tips for safe use of internet and mobile technology were highly appreciated by participants. Nodes were also interested in the story behind the conception and design of some of the resources.
E-safety resources are regularly uploaded by Insafe members to the multilingual online repository of the Insafe Library. The library counts more than 500 multi-lingual resources, ranging from awareness material, to best practice accounts, reports and newsletter articles. The advantage of the library is that members can make their e-safety resources publicly available to stakeholders, awareness nodes, teachers, parents, etc. For more information on e-safety resources please consult the Insafe Library.
All in all, the resource exhibition was a success. Nodes were given the chance to see the kind of awareness materials that each node developed and how these materials are designed to reach the targeted public. Participants left with fresh ideas to be adapted and put into effect in their own country. In the end, they agreed that this valuable exchange of ideas and resources should be organised at future meetings.
