NetAlert internet safety programs recognised

NetAlert internet safety programs recognised NetAlert has recently been announced as finalists in both international and national awards for their internet safety web sites for children: CyberQuoll and Netty’s World.

NetAlert’s internet safety education program for primary schools, CyberQuoll, was recently named a finalist in the prestigious Pirelli Awards.

The Pirelli Awards is an international multimedia competition aimed at the diffusion of scientific and technological culture worldwide. The competition started in 1996 and this year there were over 1000 entries received.

CyberQuoll was awarded a finalist in the ICT category of the competition. This section recognises multimedia works which represent an important contribution to the field of ICT.

CyberQuoll forms part of the NetAlert CyberSafe Schools program which delivers internet safety education to all schools in Australia. CyberQuoll follows the adventures of two cousins as they learn about the online risks of the internet and ways to stay safe.

NetAlert is also delighted to announce that its pre-school educational program, Netty’s World, has been nominated as one of Australia’s best educational websites at the 24th Annual ATOM Awards. NetAlert is proud to be recognised for its work on internet safety.

As part of Australian Teachers for Media Inc, the ATOM Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of Australian and New Zealand media professionals, educators and students.

Nominated in the “Best Educational Website” category, the nomination reinforces NetAlert’s commitment to the protection of children online through resources freely available to parents wanting to educate their younger children about internet safety.

The ATOM Award nomination demonstrates the recognition that internet safety education, particularly from a young age, is essential. NetAlert’s aim is to help parents ensure their children enjoy a safe and rewarding internet experience.
