Support chat for children and youth at Christmas time
Save the Children Finland and its partners will provide “Manteli” (Almond) support chat over the Christmas period for minors.
Volunteer support personnel will be available for children and young people on the internet services popular among them. According to the experiences from previous years there is a strong need to reach a responsible adult to share sometimes very tragic experiences sparked off at Christmas time. The Habbo Hotel aimed for younger children will be closed for the night, but the other internet services, Suomi 24 and the Irc Galleria, will be open for 24 hours from 24th December 15.00 to 25th December. The volunteers mainly have a background in social or health care or other experience from youth work or support.
