Insafe training meeting

Insafe's latest network meeting took place in Mondorf-les-Bains, Luxembourg. Situated at the confluence of three European countries, this conference came at an important point in the European Commission funded project.

Insafe's sixth training meeting was scheduled to come at the end of the SaferInternetplus project and gave an opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved, problems encountered and what the future will bring with the dynamic entrance of Insafe into its 2.0 phase, in the new programme period spanning from 2008 to 2010.

The first day of the conference, 23 September, focused on Youth Panels and gave nodes an opportunity to share examples of good practice through the now traditional resource market place when national nodes show their latest resources. Representatives from their network partners are then free to reuse or adapt these in their own countries.

The second day was constituted of a series of workshops based on a review of existing national websites and their usability. Node members were able to see how accessible their pages are on the increasingly popular mobile platforms, learn from each other on the structure of their sites, look at branding issues and how to integrate web 2.0 tools.

On the 26th, the very full agenda looked outwards to other SaferInternetplus projects and the promotion of helplines and hotlines which form an integral part of some "combined" nodes.

The training meeting was also scheduled so that participants could then attend the Safer Internet Forum being held on the 25 and 26 September in the city of Luxembourg.
