"On duty online" social media campaign launched

On 23 August 2007, a nationwide social campaign was launched to inform citizens about the Polish contact-point Dyzurnet.pl where they can report illegal internet content. The inauguration ceremony took place during a press conference organized at Warsaw’s Bazaar Restaurant & Bar.

The campaign is organized under the title DO NOT CONTRIBUTE TO HARMING CHILDREN! The aim is to show that behind each photo of child pornography there is an abused child. By remaining indifferent to child pornographic content on the internet we contribute to harming children.

Dyzurnet.pl is the name of a Polish Hotline that has been operated by NASK in the framework of the Saferinternet.pl consortium since 2005. The hotline is a place where anonymous reports about illegal internet content can be filed (child pornography, racist or xenophobic content). All violations of the law reported to the Dyżurnet.pl team are communicated to Polish law enforcement agencies or – with the use of other teams – to foreign entities of the same type.

The campaign material has been created by the advertising agency “Locomotiva” and consists of web, radio and press commercials. The Media (Polish radio, web services and newspapers) have granted great visibility to the campaign commercials. Thanks to their commitment the campaign has already gained widespread media coverage.
