“Sieciaki on holidays” was a series of outdoor educational events linked to the website www.sieciaki.pl and addressing children. The main objective of the holiday project was to educate children on internet safety in a fun way through competitions, quizzes and games.

The campaign was inaugurated in Warsaw just after the end of the school year in June. At the Warsaw picnic the number of participating children exceeded 500. The Holiday Sieciaki tour covered 17 locations in Poland: popular camp sites at lakes, at the seaside and in the mountains. Out of all these locations, the picnics at the sea-side were the most attended ones.

During the picnics children could visit an internet café with satellite internet access, watch a premiere cartoon on internet safety in a Sieciaki mini-cinema and take part in quizzes and competitions on internet safety. Participants won valuable prices.

During the picnics a survey was made among participating children, revealing that over 79% of them found the events very attractive and useful in educational terms. The internet café and the Sieciaki mini-cinema enjoyed the biggest popularity.

The “Sieciaki on holidays” project enjoyed wide media coverage in children’s press, TV and radio stations. The holiday campaign was summarised during a press conference held at an outdoor gallery in Warsaw, where photos from the holiday tour were exhibited.
