Czech survey on internet safety awareness

The Czech awareness node is preparing a survey in cooperation with the Polish awareness node (Nobody’s Children Foundation).

The survey will be based on the same methodology and questionnaire and provide data comparable with the recent Polish study carried out by the research agency Gemius (see May issue of Insafe newsletter). The objective of this undertaking is to map the state-of-the-art of internet safety awareness in the Czech Republic.

We have the future intention of cooperating with our Polish colleagues and would like to invite other nodes as well to gather similar data. It could be a very good way of obtaining comparable personalised data for each country in order to sketch a global picture completing the recent Eurobarometer survey.

We hope that the collected data will help us focus our efforts on the most important aspects of safer internet usage. The awareness level still remains very low and goes hand in hand with low internet literacy, as shown for instance in MacAfee’s latest spyware recognition test that you are invited to take from the following website: http://www.siteadvisor.com/spywarequiz
