Children for Saferinternet.cz

The Czech node has been trying to involve children in the activities of our combined node since the very beginning of our work. The situation seems to be easier for us compared to other countries because children have been active in the JuniorInternet initiative. The initiative has been running for the last nine years.

JuniorInternet was launched to provide a conference where youngsters can present their online projects; forming an active cell within an international association called Together!.  We appreciate the opinions and skills that these young people bring as they combine a proactive approach to the internet in general with safer internet issues in particular.

In fact Saferinternet.cz has invited some of them to work in our youth panel. They took part in the Safer Internet Youth Forum organised by the European Commission in Brussels during Safer Internet Day 2008. The presentation of their views and contribution to the discussion of the Safer Internet Youth Forum became a part of the agenda of the JuniorInternet conference.

We are counting on their collaboration in the future and are going to discuss with them the main events and campaigns of the 2009-2010 years when applying for the new project.
