Together for a better internet

The 2024 edition of Safer Internet Day took place on Tuesday, 6 February 2024. This special celebration, which takes place in February of each year, aims to raise awareness of a safer and better internet for all, and especially for children and young people.

As part of the celebration, we encourage everyone - including children and young people, parents and caregivers, teachers and educators, policymakers, industry and others - to join "Together for a better internet".

On this site, you can discover more about the actions of European Safer Internet Centres (SICs), global Safer Internet Day Committees, and a range of organisational and industry supporters to mark the day.

If you're celebrating SID, you can find a range of resources to help you in the Join SID section of this website. And, if your country isn't yet represented on the global SID map, you can find out what's involved in convening a Safer Internet Day Committee. If you think you could take on this important role - or point us to an organisation that can - we'd be delighted to hear from you!

As usual, much of the campaign's activity will played on social media. Check our Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn profiles, and review the #SaferInternetDay and #SID2024 hashtags to discover the discussions that took place on the day, all over the world.

Read on to find out more about practical ways in which you can get involved in the campaign, not just on Safer Internet Day but all year around.
